Just reading the rather good "sherlock Holmes" novel by Anthony Horowitz and it got me to o thinking. In the original books when Holmes faked his death at richenbach falls did Moriarty subsequently come back into the original series and if so what eventually happened to him

Prior to that he'd only been mentioned in Holmes's reminiscences. He then subsequently appeared in only one other novel, 'The Valley of Fear', which although it was written later than 'The Adventure of the Final Problem', was set before it.

Appropos............. when I was visiting my old school friend in Bangkok in January I took a stroll down her local area. Mostly I could not read the road signs, house names etc., but one drew my attention. On a ragged piece of wood nailed to a gatepost, written in dribbly, black painted capital letters was the word 'MORIARTY'. I'm still trying to work out a short story with the title 'The House called Moriarty'. NO-ONE is allowed to nick my title, OK!
I don't recall him appearing after the Reichenbach falls - Colonel Moran did.
