Please note that there is a Daphne du Maurier theme to the crossword

27a Housekeeper's high and barely mighty (7)
D _ N _ E _ S
It must be DANVERS (the housekeeper in "Rebecca"). I can aso see an anagram of "and"

7d Papers covering artistic setting in Cornwall after the writer's done copy (8)
I _ I _ A _ E _
Imitates or Imitated. I can see parts of the parsing for both, but not completely either.

Many thanks

Many thanks Margarettom

This seems a bit of a stretch, but perhaps 27a is an anagram of AND + (e)VER S(o) - mighty, bared?
