Unwarrented Personal Attacks And The Derailing Of Threads In Other Catagories.
174 Answers
I have just been dragged into a disagreement on another thread in News, which was toddling along well until a member posted amongst other things this. Does anyone else find the constant niggling of some 'members' determined to create a fight or bad feeling in serious catagories unpleasant? I've been forced to post this as I didn't want to facilitate the member further derailing Cassa's perfectly normal thread but I am not letting this stand.

Your business is none of my business but boy do we hear so much of your gushing mush about YOUR Man.
Word from the wise. A real man does not like to hear a woman/young lady be referred to as "my Man" . I would not refer to my wife as my woman. I do not possess her and she is enjoying her freedom as her own woman in the USA as i am enjoying my self as my own man whilst she is away.
Before I met my wife many years before and was a young cadet I was happy to have a great relationship with a stunning girl of my own age . When I was aware that she was gushing to all her friends and family how we would set up house together and have 5 kids etc I realised she was planning my life for me.That is a big turn off for a man. I had a future career to study for and could not share a fantasy of a girl who only thought of herself and babies. You appear to be steering the wrong direction.
Very sorry chill .I have sidetracked your OP. I will not complain if our tete a tete is deleted. It is entirely off subject and could be discussed elsewhere. Apologies again//

Dave was my man, or little fat g1t, or any number of things. I talked about OUR plans I am sure that is all Kval has done. It's normal to have a bucketful of plans and dreams when you are young . Even nicer if they are shared and I have no reason to believe they are not. Having a family isn't always a given and when you have medical problems it is rarely a thing you allow...

To answer you, he calls me his prtner, his girl or his lady and I call him my partner, my boyfriend or my man, he's cool with that, again not your concern.
He asked me to move there. He supports my career. He is keen on having children and was the first one to bring it up, I was never going to have kids because of my health situation, so kindly stop attacking my relationship. If you don't like it- tough.

They are known as ad hominem attacks:

Most people revert to them now and again, often without realising it until later, but they are the norm for trolls.

I’m probably not qualified to answer, as I’m not a proper man.
I don’t drink, don’t like football, haven’t had a fight since 1965, cry at sentimental films, and wouldn’t mind a rag-doll for a present.
And I would never address anyone as ‘girl’, tell them to grow up, or accuse them of talking gushing mush.
So a very poor example of manhood.
I have this naive notion that people are people, no matter what their genitalia.
My life-long partner (we married 50-ish years ago to get a tax rebate to buy a 2nd-hand Wolseley) is her own person. I try and support her in all she does, as she does me. She is a wonderful person, with more integrity than most people will ever have.
You, kvalidir, strike me as honest, happy, and similarly full of integrity. If ever you happen to write something with which I disagree, I’ll argue with you, person to person.
It’s simply a matter of respect.
