Spending a quiet Sunday afternoon, drinking an excellent glass of red and watching a couple of re-runs of the brilliant Father Brown adaptations.

I idly wondered if there was going to be a new series in 2019 and was delighted to find that it starts on Monday 7th January (with ten new episodes over the following fortnight) :

This really is the sort of stuff we pay the licence fee for - worth every penny and then a few more.

Good news, dave. I like this, it's shot near me. Was it you or someone else on AB that particularly liked Emer Kenny in the episode 'The Crimson Feather'? :)

If my recording was on videotape it would be worn through - as it is I can enjoy the good points whenever I please ...

Ha ha, your secret's safe with me. Oh, hang on.....

Sid's not in the cast list for the first few episodes - presumably 'otherwise detained' ...
I walked past Kembleford Village Hall only yesterday, and one of the pubs
Oh thanks for highlighting this, I love this series the action is fantastic
Can you start watching it in the middle (say from series 4) or do you need to have seen all the other episodes?
Question Author
Sherr - you can start at any point - each episode is self-contained.

Some characters (especially the dim policeman) change between series but there aren't any 'running story lines' that need to be followed in strict sequence.
Thanks for that - I’ll give it a go :)
I wonder if the 'other' Hercule - Flambeau - will be making an appearance this series. I think he got away again last time we saw him.
do my eyes deceive me or is the delightfully voluptuous Emer Kenny even more voluptuous in this series?
Mr c loves these 50's dramas. He reminisces about all the old vehicles.
Good final episode of this series, written by the reliable Kit Lambert - and I was pleased to see that I was right about Flambeau making an appearance.
Yes, I thought Bunty was looking more voluptuous. Bet others noticed, too, eh s-d?!
Idly channel surfing and getting to the very big numbers I found a channel called Talking Pictures and they were showing Family at War from the 1970s, we used to watch it when it was first on.
