Did anyone else watch The Chase the other day? Bradley asked the woman "Name a well known book by Robert Louis Stephenson"
Her answer was "The lion, the witch and the wardrobe!"I almost spat my coffee out!

Maybe you should keep your hot beverage intake for the advert breaks.
There obviously isn't an audition as the level of knowledge across all episodes varies tremendously.
well you either know or you don't but the one that made me laugh was the woman, who when asked, "who was the second man on the moon?" answered confidently: "Buzz Lightyear"!
grumpy, I think they carefully select a few clueless ones for a laugh!
They may well do TTT.Also most of the teams who get on Eggheads now lack a lot of basic General Knowledge required for your average pub quiz.
my general knowledge is ok but if I went on tv i'm sure I would be a gibbering idiot lol x
That's what has stopped me applying for Countdown Mally H
although many years ago I did take part in treble chance quiz on the radio and enjoyed it.For that we had an audition locally and the top three scorers plus a travelling reserve went for the recording. Unfortunately we lost to a better team on the night.
When I did Fifteen-to-One, everyone appearing had to do an audition. Don't think that can be the case with The Chase, Tipping Point etc.
Many years ago my friend about 16 was getting interviewed for a job. They asked her who was the President of Ireland - she didn't know but they prompted her "Eamon? - she said Andrews". DeValera of course.
