Old kids tv program - scary noughts and crosses game!

Pleeeeeeeeeeease help! All I can remember is that the scary noughts and crosses game happened during the opening or closing credits (with scary music) and the round robot-type 'players' didn't actually appear in the program itself. I think the 'baddie' was a witch who had an identical, nice but dim sister....Ringing any bells??

Yup, Terrahawks.

I had one of the round robots as a football.

They did appear. They used to come out the side of the ship and shoot at incoming baddies.

I remember getting quite upset back then
