Tea Leaves Infuser

I want to use tea leaves now as I think you get a better cup of tea.

I have been out recently and noticed the little teapots with the infuser inside of them which contains the tea leaves.

Now I have a teapot - would it be okay to buy an infuser and set it in my teapot ie would it work out per se like not move inside the teapot.

^ That would work, it would move a tiny bit but wouldn't affect anything such as the flow of the pour.

Hi JJ, I just use an ordinary teapot, put tea leaves inside & pour hot water in. Leave til it's brewed enough & pour using a tea strainer. Sometimes I feel the infuser doesn't let the tea leaves move freely in the pot - I think that's an integral part of it.

thanks JD - tbh - that's what I have been doing - letting the tea spread in the pot and then strain. It is a far nicer cuppa than the tea dust/bags.

I have a Bodum clear, glass teapot with infuser & still went back to good old fashioned way! I even do the same if I'm making Jasmine tea or any other tea leaves - preferably with no bag i.e. loose leaves

Hi JJ I would go with a stainless steel one, as you say much better flavour. If the folk law is correct tea bags are made from the dust that cannot be sold as leaves. Teabags are ok for a single quick cup.

it is a stainless steel one I have TonyV - and it has been lying dormant as an ornament on top of cooker for a long time, tea has been lovely in it. One for you and one for the pot.

JJ I thought you were asking in your OP about buying an infuser? you may need to give the infuser a bit of a jiggle to get all the flavour from the leaves.

sorry for the confusion - initially I was talking about the infuser but I am giving the teapot a go and it has worked out. The teapot has been sitting on the cooker like an ornament.
