Solicitors' Roll Number - Practice Certificates - Multiple Sra Ids.
1 Answers
Does anyone know if a solicitor is permitted to have more than one SRA ID? I came across an individual last year who worked for two law firms under slightly different variations of the same name. His profile at each firm used the same photo. The SRA Helpline said this is not something that is permitted. I sent them links to each profile and screenshots of the Law Society website 'Find A Solicitor' page for each SRA ID of this individual. They replied that this had been an error which had now been corrected. I checked the Law Society 'Find A Solicitor' pages again and nothing had been changed. I have today found someone else with two SRA IDs at two different firms (an employee at one and a consultant at the other) - although this time his additional roles are listed on his main role page. Is the SRA ID the same thing as a solicitor's number on the Roll? A subsidiary question is who regulates the SRA? If the SRA is the Regulator for the Solicitors' Profession - who regulates the Regulator if the SRA fail in their role?

in term of who regulates the regulator it boils down to - what for?
if you are a dissatisfied claimant who has lost money it is the legal ombudsman
you aare not in that possition, o it is back to them I think
you know the answer to - "can they have differing ID no's?" - lose one for incompetence then you can use the other - so I think that is a no-no
GMC - no deffo - dr Balachandran ( frinstance) is NOT allowed to practice under Dr Bala nor Dr Chandran
sorry I cant get more emotional bout this
solicitors ( not all) doing a crap job and still charging anyway is hardly news
