Has anyone counted for the last 10 years or so? No more room unless some get shoved out - obeying the laws of nature e.g. drones are excluded from the hive when useless and something I witnessed the other day - a young crow tumbling from the nest landed almost at our feet. S/he shook himself and stalked off. Very often the adults chuck the useless ones out to fend for themselves.

I've just read that 1,500 migrants arrived here in August. It does make you think about how many there are in total and where are they all living. We know some are living in hotels, but how can we house thousands. What is Ms Patel doing about it?

That's what I wonder, barsel. Allen, do you have a number in mind of how many the UK can literally support in the long-term? I'm sure I have asked recently, but don't remember a number. The NHS, schools, housing, roads, benefits.... and so on. What is the ideal population here?
