monologues

Not really sure if this is the right board for this, but its the one that fits best...

Anyway, how important do you think it is for a monologue being used for an audition fits the part that I want.
Inother words, can I use a monologue that has nothing todo with the part I want. The director already knows me pretty well, as we've worked together before.
