The joy of painting
This is an old programme but one I’ve just happened upon. For anyone who would like to have a go at painting - or even for those who already paint - it offers a lot of great techniques and advice - and it’s enjoyable. Just a little recommendation.

I must say that I now wish I hadn't posted it, as it was only done for the family. But many of us have a streak of show-offishness. Anyway, I have shared a bit of my private life now, which is better than remaining an aloof priggish criticiser. :-)
I also remember Atheist posting the pictures of his "petanque chum" and mother. The thread is here:

Go for it - paint what you what - it's for your pleasure and those who are close to you. It's about enjoyment and a 'mental time out' to refresh the batteries.
Training, tutors, whatever - if you are interested. It's about inspiration, mine being three fold, two teachers at prep school and next one up - and summers spent in the St. Ives School of Art under the tutelage of one Leonard Fuller. Throw in a couple of pieces shown publicly - when I was 9 - and then in winning a significant Carnegie Prize at Uni, and I was away.
There's plenty of my drawings on the Art threads here - but what is driving me nuts is that I can't find an oil I made just to the west of St Ives, a place called Man's Head and I'm sure that I have a photo of it somewhere on AB or, even better, on my pics here! Some talent perhaps but, seriously, it's more about enthusiasm and relaxation!!! Go for it Naomi.
