Do you know who this childrens author is?

Hello, when I was a teenager I read a couple of books by an author but I can't remember her name. The books were along a similar theme of witches. One book was about a long lost cousin moving in with a family as all of her family had been killed. It turned out that she wasn't the cousin but had stolen her identity. I remember a yellow dress being significant. I am probably being too vague.

It's not this The Summer of Fear by Lois Duncan is it?
