Doing voluntary work in a Charity bookshop is fun, a couple of weeks ago I was flicking through an art book and found paintings that a one-year-old Gorilla could better any day.

I just decided that I was an imbecile when it came to art.

It seems that I am not alone https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-63423811

I love doing Sudokus but the boxes are evenly spaced - that makes sense.

That seems so wrong?! Blasphemy or something.

I am off to do an online sudoku, play Candy Crush and read whilst hiding from the world under my duvet. It is a hard life being a grown-up!
Thought that was the seating plan on a KLM long haul plane, jno....
Art is in the eye of the beholder, if you think it’s great, it’s great. If you think it’s rubbish, it’s rubbish.
I paint and some would think it’s been done by a gorilla, I don’t care, I enjoy doing it.
Some painters do stuff which mainstream would think is wonderful, I don’t. It doesn’t matter.
I’m also off to do Candy Crush...
Utrecht is an abbreviation of utterchit, apparently. :-)
Pft! Anyone could see it was upside down.
I know what you mean. I think that modern art does not mean anything until you name it and a meaning is put to it.
its whatever you want it to be. I confess i don't care for much for modern art, like Damien Hurst's offerings or Tate Modern
I agree with Vagus. Art is in the eye of the beholder. But, my definition of art, whatever form it takes, is, that it is something which pleases its' creator. Have you ever done anything, then smiled because you were pleased with it? Doesn't have to be art though; could be anything. I think that is the same with art, having made or created it, it makes the artist smile. That's my definition of art.

Lots of good answers. I don't have a type of art that I like - if I look at something I either like it or not.

Some of the old British Rail posters were vibrant and happy. Some artists can create drawings that look as realistic as photographs.

This is an unusual art book that I bought for myself and also sent a copy to my bewildered brother. Amazon.com User Recommendation He has made quite a bit of money for a homeless charity and a doggie charity.
