Wednesday evening we thoroughly enjoyed The Festival of Britain 1951: A Brave New World on BBC4. People at last enjoying freedom and a colourful fun-filled London full of smiling faces.
Tonight's BBC1 6 O'clock News brought us to tears with the brilliant coverage by an amazing team of sensitive reporters and skilled camera operators of the war in Ukraine.
I find these mixed emotions difficult. Dave and I have a comfortable happy life. I’d go to our knit and natter and sit hugging a crying Ukrainian grandma wondering about her family back home. How different our lives had become.
terrible weather during much of the Festival of Britain, I believe. Still, if they'd wanted a Festival of Spain they'd have had to hold it somewhere else.
