What a terrible puzzle! I was quite relieved when I was summoned for my bath even though I hadn’t finished it. Maybe I won’t bother to try. Which would be a first time for me.
I thought that instead I would bring to your attention ( though it’s not a crossword reference) a book I was bought for my recent birthday.
It’s called “ Once Upon a prime” by a woman called Sarah Hart who is a professor of Mathematics at Birkbeck college. As the name suggests , she writes about how authors introduce numbers and mathematical concepts into their works. Some I knew about e.g Lewis Carrol but many I hadn’t realised. Sometimes the maths is a bit beyond me but mainly I coped. It’s an amazing book, unlike anything I’ve ever read before and I can’t recommend it too highly! I’ll stop there

I might have to check my local library for the book, but it does look a good read :-)
