Lizzie's List
What a joke, rewarding her cronies for driving the economy into a wall. Now this really is taking the hiss big time.

The simple fact is, outgoing PM's are able to provide an Honours List.
That provisin is not based on either the ability of the outgoing PM, or the length of time they served - if it was, any of the PM's in the last fifty years would be exempt.
That means Ms Truss gets her List, and since she was not around long enough to actually do anything, she is entirely limited to rewarding the people who were politically and morally bankrupt enough to shoe-horn her into the position for a few days.
It's the system - live with it.
nicebloke - // At the moment I don't have a choice, maybe it will change, it should because its wide open for abuse. Lizzie's list is abuse of this system. //
But the entire system is formed and exists on abuse.
It's about 'reward' - but that is a moveable feast, especially when politicians are involved.
Every year the media howls in disgust about how cronies and failures get gongs and peerages, and every year it happens again.
The main problem is, as with so many other positions of power - in order to be in any position to change something, you have to have soundly proved beyond doubt that you entirely support it as it is.
That's why this nonsense will happen this year, next, and on into the distant future.
It's a system built to reward the people who create and maintain it, the 'great and the good', although increasingly, as we agree, recipients are not within a country mile of being either.
TTT - // We can't have variable application of a standard rule. //
Absolutely.
How can any MP shout about banning Ms Truss's List simply because they don;t agree with it, or with her making it, when the same argument can be levelled at their guy when it's his turn to do the same?
The rule that let Blair and Johnson reward cronies applies to Ms Truss just as much, and people involved, which is any and all MP's, should shut up and suck up.
I may be wrong, so correct me if I am. The honors list that the media howl about year after year don't nomally bother me or who gets what, but this list by Truss tends to stick out like a sore thumb, they could be blocked if Sunak requested such, I believe that request is made to the King?? Maybe its time after years of howls a sitting PM for once has the halls to take the maybe correct action.
