I have a young fox continually standing at my back door, for days now, he seems very hungry and has started eating my plastic mat outside...  how can l get rid of him?  Obviously l don't want to harm him, but l don't think he has learnt how to hunt for food... would throwing water close to him (but not on him): help?

He is I would say three quarters grown so not a small cub, doesn't seem skinnynp, mangy etc.  I scattered garlic granules on the doormat he was eating... as apparently they hate garlic... then he started eating the granules!  At the moment every time he comes to the door l am throwing water close to him and he runs away,  hopefully he will get the message and bother someone else ...

Poor thing is starving ! Feed him & call for help from a wild-life rescue centre.

Please feed him and get him some help.
