Bit of a hard one, but looking at the story of Adam and Eve, I would say that woman is the tempress, and man, the susceptible mental weakling were women are concerned, which still holds true today.
Whilst I agree with the first answer, as a woman I feel that you have to look at the whole picture. Eve was supposed to have been created from Adam's rib. The serpant was able to persuade her to persuade Adam to eat the forbidden fruit. She would then appear to have been weak as well. Generally, therefore, I think that Genesis portrays woman as potentially evil and a bad influence on man. Even in later times a woman was thought to be 'unclean' by the church. I remember when I gave birth to my daughter, my (ex) Mother in Law suggested that I should be 'churched'. This seemed to mean that I had proved that I had commited a sex act by having had a baby and would need some kind of absolution.

Not sure of the terminology you will be using as I don't know what you degree is in but I hope this is useful.
