How many heroic couplets are there in Pope's translation of the "ILIAD"?

I don't have an exact answer (yet, I won;t give up) but it's somewhere between 7,500 and 8,000. I have sene it described as 15,000 and nearly 16,000 lines long but haven't found exact no. of lines yet. If you knew a library that had it, they may be numbered, might just be a case of looking at the last page...?

The Iliad, by contrast, is 15,693 lines long and would take several days to recite in its entirety.

15,693/2 = 7846.5 couplets!

Not the exact answer oviously but getting damn close I think! Will pick it up again later good luck in meantime,
