With Cradle and Clock

My mum found a really old book called "With Cradle and Clock" by Knud Stowman. It has a price on the inside cover of 9s. 6d. It was published by "Hurst and Blackett", it doesn't have a date, and it is in good conndition with hardback and dust cover. My mum can't be bothered to read it so she wants to know, what it is about, how old is it, and most of all, is it worth anything?

It was first published in 1946 in USA. It is about a doctor who in the early 1700s became America's first obstetrician.

There is currently an ex-library first edition currently for sale in the USA for $7, so your mum is not going to get rich.
