I too have a signed Letterman Painting. It is of a sailboat in the sunset. It appears that Letterman works in browns and shades of brown. This painting is HUGE, 5' X 4'. Picked it up at an estate auction last year. We plan to use it in our livingroom above a new leather couch. We would like to find out more info on this paintinf as well. I have seen a couple LARGE ones like ours,(not a sail boat but oil derricks), on Ebay listed for $2,500. but I doubt seriously it's worth THAT much, but it IS beautiful and it DOES appear to have "value". Framing is nice too! ANY info ANYONE can provide would be appreciated! Thanks! Claude007 (Please email direct. I do not come to this forum often...[Email address removed as per site policy. - AB Editor] Copy paste the address or it won't be right....trust me!) :-)
I too am bidding on an auction for a letterman painting. I did do some research and they do appear in auctions of "estates". So I tend to think the painter would be painting in the 60's, 70's or 80's. He also does abstracts, landscapes and the "resting cat" as it was called in an auction catalog. What a mystery artist. I can't find a thing else out. Seems kind of strange to have so MANY paintings, everyone has heard of you, yet no history. What do you think? Maybe a "ghost" painter of somekind....like authors do??
Also have a 4x5 ft. Letterman on canvas. This is a series of sailboats (4) side by side, with a huge sun in the background. Everything done in browns, blacks and orange. Wouldn't part with it for the world but it would be nice to know a bit about the artist and the painting's value (if indeed, it has any).

I have a Letterman Painting signed in block letters very beautiful painting very realistic oil painting reclining on a sofa. I would love to compare signatures Does anyone have a signed Letterman so that I can view the signature?? Monet painted the waterlilies many times, some painters do that. I would imagine there are many cat paintings by Letterman.

I live in Texas. I also have a Letterman oil painting. It is a sailboat with a full moon. It has a background of a city with a cable bridge in it. It was in my house already when I moved in. It has been hanging in the same place for 5 years now. I was going to get rid of it when one of my friend told me to research it on the net. I have not found out much about the artist yet. His painting seem to have poped up all of the place though.
I have a 4' by 4' Letterman retro painting, oil on canvas, brown, beige, grays. It is a circle which is geometric in nature with lines of different colors, sizes, lengths, etc. The painting is amazing to look at. The artist used a thick medium to give a three dimensional effect. It is an original that I bought at JC Penney in Dallas, Texas in 1980. I too am looking for answers about the artist.
