Off on my hols soon and am looking for suggestions for a good book to take.

I have bought 'The Kite Runner' but not so sure now.

I'm looking for a page turner but nothing too heavy - Hey! I'm on my hols.

If it helps, I'm female in late (very late!) 30's.

Thanks.

e by matthew beaumont is good, funny and easy to read. Ideal for a holiday.
Shadow of the wind Carlos ruiz Zafon
God of small things Arundahti Roy
both great books.
the time travellers is a good read, enjoy your hols.
Best Holiday read (and it's not the first time I've waved the flag for her!!) are Janet Evanovich's Stephanie Plum books, they have a bit of everything, thriller, romance, and most of all very funny - especially if you are a female in your late 30's!!!
Start at the begining with One for the Money, then Two for the Dough - helpfully all titles are numbered so you know which order to read them - you can read them out of sequence but they are better if you read them in order. Enjoy your hols!
The Kite Runner is an excellent book. It's very moving and definitely a page turner. Depends what you're looking for really. Total excapism or something with a little deeper.
As mentioned already it depends what you'd go for but for a holiday read that isn't too deep but still exciting try Martina Cole, she has loads of books out, and I believe that some of them were televised.
Some of my favourites are as follows though, you could look them up on Amazon to see if you'd like them:
Brick Lane - Monica Ali
Memoirs of a Geisha - Arthur Golden
Lovely Bones - Alice Sebold (fantastic read!!)
To Kill a Mockingbird - Harper Lee
I adore autobiographies, my latest favourite is called 'Night Song of the Last Tram', by Robert Douglas. About his childhod growing up in Glasgow. Really funny nad sad as well. ASDA had it last time i was in there. Give it a try.
