Some years back ITV showed a modern day version of Othello, starring Christopher Eccleston, Eamonn Walker and Keeley Hawes - it was GREAT! Sadly, (despite starring these wonderful British actors) it has never been repeated and appears unavailable on DVD. Are there any television/film 'insiders' out there who can pull some strings and arrange a repeat?? I thank you...

I remember that: it was called John Othello if I remember rightly and he was a black copper. It was really good.

I'm afraid I don't work in TV so I can't help, But if there any out there, can you add a version of Macbeth set on a Birmingham housing estate to Jollyrotter's request: it was shown once and promptly vanished. It was a fantastic version, starring Ray Winstone, and deserves a wider airing.
Ooo, I watched that Othello at school!! It was good I thought...sorry I can't help but I just thought I'd share that with you...lol ;-)

Thanks guys - will keep my fingers crossed. Can't understand why so much rubbish is repeated but something as class as this and with such brilliant British actors has just vanished into thin air. Ho hum...
