My tax disc runs out 31 July. I am on honeymoon from Saturday until the 1st August. Will I get away with it if I buy my tax on the 1st August AM?? My car is parked on my drive

Yes, there is some leeway in practise if not in theory.

Yuo can buy you new tax disc in the month it expires so you could buy it now even if you don't have tax renewal form. All you need is you logbook, insurance and mot if applicable.

you can't buy it til the 15th of the previous month. 1st of August will be fine, evnen 2nd or 3rd shouldn't be a problem.

Your car doesnt need to be taxed if its parked on your drive anyway, so why not just do it on the day you return?
