this question has been asked several times in recent weeks, put the words 'rain came down' in the search option at the bottom of the topics and all the revious Qs and answers will magically appear.

Some new member may know,so it may not be a wasted question.
S'fact.
So it wasn't Hitchiker's then? I'll go ask in my writing forum, see if they know.
The only suggestion they were able to come up with was that maybe the line you've been given is slightly wrong. Variations were googled and 'Ordeal of Richard Feveral, Vol 3' by George Meredith came up.

was it a childrens short story? i vaguely remember one such story about someone or some animal or other who wished that there wasnt any weather cos it was constantly raining or summat, and he got his wish but it was disasterous in some way, so they had to wish to have the weather back.
