My sons homeowrk for this week is to find out what was buried with Roahl Dahl in his coffin? apparently its something unusual, ive been on his websites, read the auto biographies, even rang his museum but no one seems to know Help!

No - he had his hip bone sitting on a table in his writing room. He asked for it back following a nhip replacement op. This was on the TV this week can't remember what programme though.

It may be a little late for your son's homework but... one of my friend's father was involved in the preparations for Dahl's funeral and included with his remains were some of the things he loved to use. This included his favourite pencils (he always wrote in pencil), some Cadbury's chocolate (apropros considering his most famous book), a full bottle of red, an electric saw complete with cable and plug, and his set of snooker cues. Quite a fitting, eccentric, and wonderful assortment! His hip bone was not buried with him.
