Have only seen the two movies but I get the feeling that Ron Weasley is in for the high jump.
I would be very very surprised if any of the 3 majors got it, I would be less surprised however if Dumbledore went to the old wizards cloud in the sky, especially as we no longer have Richard Harris to portray him! The emotive cull would be Hagrid! God Im 24 and Im seriously considering the plot of a childrens book. Kill me now.
The ideal candidate to die in the next book is Harry Potter - and thus end the whole tedious thing

IT'S HAGRID!
I suppose if they can bring back Mr. Spock and Bobby Ewing they can bring back anyone.....are the bookies offering odds on any of the characters?
I'm with you Pinotage....someone with sense but i fear it's me and thee against the world.
JK has said that it won't be any of the main three, so I guess it's got to be either Dumbledore or Hagrid. I'd just like to add that it's nice to know that Pinotage and sft42 would like to deny others a pleasure that they have been unable to find themselves, which encourages children to read. I didn't realise that reading these books was compulsory.
My money's on Hagrid. The main 3 will go through till the end I reckon, and Hagrids the only other one who is classed as a 'close friend' to Harry so I reckon its him. Regarding the do we like it or hate it options, I agree with Cathy that its great that kids have something to read and get into and follow - but then again, I think Pinotage and sft have valid points as its each to their own. Personally, I love Harry Potter but for example can't stand Big Brother and some people look at me like I've got 2 heads when I say that :)
I've decided it's Hagrid, so Harry can go and avenge whatever evil killed him, I'm 32 and I'm discussing children's books - and I like big brother, shall I just go away now...
I think there's an even chance.Hargid could die because of his big bother[who is a giant],any magical creatures,or a death eater[i think lucus malfoy is a death eater who would want to kill hargid].And Dumbeldore is starting to get into fights with he who must not be named.
It's got to be sirius black i mean it would make harry a boy with no living family making the story more tradgic
Comloulou & Katiesara I am only 14 but my older brother (28yrs)will argue with me about the HP series 2 the point we have 2 get out the book 2 settle the arguement~And altho the HP books are built up as children books they are more for mature young adults and just adults in general if u ask me!I mean my niece(4yrs) and my nephew (6yrs) dont understand them even if I explain 100 times.I think it is kewl that you guys answered.Nehow I just wanted 2 say that now 4 my answer 2 the question~~~I think that maybe Malfoy will die and like come back to haunt harry or something! But I think that's more of a fantasy for Malfoy 2 die! : )I think that if any important character were to die it will be either Malfoy or Hagrid! Peace out ya'll!
well nehow if u were talking about the 5th book then we already know the answer (Serius Black!)
