There are 37 plays attributed to Shakespeare. At the time of his death in 1616, there were 21 known plays in manuscript form. In 1623 a few of his old friends published a quarto of his works, which contained 36 plays. The 37th, 'Pericles' was printed seperately in 1609, but wasn't added to the quarto until the third folio of 1664. The complete list of plays is:
