well Im looking for a good book to read. Not sure aboout the genre But if this helps, some of my favorites are thumbsucker, clock work orange, 1984, Flowers for Algernon, Perks of being a wall flower

Have you tried John Wyndham? He wrote Day Of The Triffids, The Midwich Cuckoos and The Kraken Wakes amongst others.

'The Sheep Who Changed the World' by Neil Astley, is lighter than the titles you've already read, but still gets you thinking.

How about the Philip Pullman Northern lights trilogy or some Isaac Asimov (I Robot, Foundation etc)?

Since you liked '1984', you could try reading 'Brave New World' by Aldous Huxley, has a similar plot and genre, interesting read overall.
