I'm about half way through it.
I'm enjoying it. I don't normally read biographies, (normally read stephen king and dean koontz) but this is quite funny and when he writes about particular things from his childhood i find it a bit like a trip down memory lane!!

To be honest i'm a big Peter Kay fan, but i've been very disappointed with his book. I have it finished and without spoiling anything it doesn't reveal very much more than if you have viewed all of his dvd's and not just the stand ups but the series such "that peter kay thing" and "phoenix nights". Everything he starts to talk about in the book you know the conclusion. I still had a chuckle to myself but its a bad sign when you are reading a book if you keep flickin on to see how many pages you have left in the chapter to get it fininshed. Every joke he cracks whilst during writing his story is every joke he has said before.

As i said i'm a huge fan and if there is a follow up book or anything else he produces i will still go out and buy, but his efforts in this book just seem to be a big money spinner for himself over christmas. His following don't benefit hugely from the books contents.

jimmy i agree with you totally, i was disappointed, it was a lost oppoprtunity for him to give his fans an insight into his childhood.

I love peter kay and loved his book!!! I thought that it was geat! I was often sat on my own reading it and found myself laughing out loud like sone crazy person!!!!
He doesn't reveal a great deal about himself like traditional autobiographies but its never been sold as a 'warts and all' kind of book. He retains his dignity and privacy but still provides a good, humourous story.

He does use quite a lot of his usual jokes but I don't quite see how that can really be avoided as all his stand-up shows, programmes, etc are based on his recent experiences, his fanily and his childhood. If you found them funny before then i dont see how u cant enjoy them again. Good jokes are ones that u can laugh at more than once and, in my opinion be it right or wrong, peter kay is full of them!

I loved it and would recommend it to any peter kay fan.
