Book sales in UK?
2 Answers
Dear all
Do you know of any websites that could tell me sales of a new release book in the UK? It's been out for a month or so, was written by my brother (quite proud!) and is doing really well. But basically I want to know at what point I can call him up and ask for my Mini Cooper!!
Thanks all for your help.

Either that or a company called Neilson/Neillsen? bookscan who generally compile this data by looking at weekly sales.
Might I ask what the book is? I can always ask one of my friends in the know to find out for me.

As drchasuble says, The Bookseller lists top sellers each week, but as far as know (and I see it most weeks), they don't have any kind of information service for the rest.
Bookfind Online is operated by Nielsen Bookdata, the ISBN people, but you have to pay to use their service and even then, I don't think they list sales figures.
Amazon would list the book's place in its own rankings, which is a useful guide given how many people use Amazon, but for the real information you're going to have to contact the publisher, I think.
