I remember seeing on the Internet a couple of years ago an article about the most extensive book ever written on the subject of toilets. If I remember correctly, the author was a professor, and it cost around US$80, or thereabouts. Does this ring any bells? I would like the title and/or the name of the author. Thanks.

Perhaps you mean "The World Market for Sinks, Wash Basins, Bidets, and Water Closet Pans: A 2003 Global Trade Perspective" at $795.00

.

or Professor Phillip Parker's " The 2003 World Market Forecasts for Imported Sinks, Wash Basins, Bidets, and Water Closet Pans" at a more reasonable $325?

.

Search for 'water closet' on amazon.com

Good suggestions, except that they are not reference works, not extensively dealing with toilets, not books, not written a couple of years ago, not by professors and do not cost around $80. I've tried Amazon.

I got the answer from another source. Apparently it is Alexander Kira's "The Bathroom". http://www.chiprowe.com/bookrev/bathroom.html I would also like to apologize for being a bit rude in my previous message.
Don't worry...compared to the mass genocide in your home country your little tirade at good old Pinotage seems hardly worth mentioning.
Your name is well chosen. You say of the of books (by Professor Parker) I suggested "they are not reference works, not extensively dealing with toilets, not books, not written a couple of years ago, not by professors and do not cost around $80. I've tried Amazon."

.

Strangely the book you now say you were looking for does not extensively deal with toilets, but also sink and bath tubs and rest room design, was not written a couple of years ago but in 1975, and did not cost around $80, its list price is $10.95"

Strange old world

This thread is a classic - the best thing about it is that is in the "Arts & Literature" section!
