Coronation street has insulted our intelligences for half a century Or how about Eastenders which has to be the second most moronic T.V programe in T.V. history But to beat all we have to look at the truly most moronic programme in T.V.. history which of course is Emmerdale farm. Over the years this village of fifty people has had a jetliner crash on it, the post office has been robbed by gun wielding robbers twice who presumably got the weeks take of around �50, and recently according to my brain dead wife someone was kidnpped and held to ransome for a quarter of a million pounds And this is a village of fifty people If there has ever been a more mind numbing piece of garbage than this lets hear about it

They are soaps NOT reality,anyway i would rather have corrie and emmerdale than lots of other programmes

Mind numbing garbage? ALL reality tv! Ordinary people, celebrities (who should know better), quiz shows - yuk! yuk! Compared to that Coronation Street and Emmerdale are classics! Oh, and if my husband called me brain dead I'd make sure he really was brain dead, as quickly as I could grab the frying pan ... or maybe you already are brain dead, and that's why your poor wife needs Coronation Street et al!

Totally unfair.....if these soaps are such garbage as you put it, how come they have managed to keep the ratings up for HALF A CENTURY etc. unlike other programmes that are removed after one series ! Your wife being brain dead is probably down to your constant moaning Mr Victor Meldrew......and for someone who obviously HATES them, you seem to know an awful lot about them, more than me and I love 'em !

You should divorce and find one who is more in tune with yourself.There are women out there who don't watch TV soaps they read books,listen to music,go to the theatre,go to concerts and can hold good conversations.Good luck if you decide to search.
