As I have a deep fascination of Psychology, it would mean much to me to have to opportunity to study the course further at university, with the hope of developing a further understanding and a motivation to study human behaviour further. I believe that this is the course and path I wish to follow and will lead me on to my aspirational career. I have been interested in many television programmes, including Criminal Minds, Cracker, Silent Witness and CSI, which I collected regularly. As well as programmes, I love to read crime & Thriller books which have always sparked my interest and caught my imagination, particularly those written by Martina Cole and Alex Cava. Being influenced by these fictional programmes and books, I was able to conduct my own research and learn more about the career I wish to follow. Away from the glamorisation of how careers within the criminal system are perceived, but exactly what they entail and what is involved. I believe that I have an enthusiastic and determined personality, which will lead me to success and achievement. I am passionate in my aims. Understanding the thoughts and motivations behind an individuals behaviour is what drives me to Psychology and intrigues me further.

Sorry Nat but that would totally put me off. It's badly written and far too long. Who cares what TV programmes you watch? I presume you are applying for entry in 2008.

Brief and to the point is what you want. Dont waffle on. My uni statement was no more than about 300 words. Do you not get any guidance with this from your school?

As Gef suggests, you are too late for 2007 entry so you must be applying for 2008 in which case you have months before this needs to be done. I would seek help from your teachers.

im sorry but actually you can apply for 2007 now eventhough it is late. i wouldnt be wasting my time doing this if i could go would i? on the ucas website it states that my personal statement has to be up 400 words, no joke! So i think it may have changed a bit since you may have went. The whole i was adviced to put tv and books in was to show how my interest started so maybe im getting the wrong advice..? Yes i have had some guidence about what to include and it has been looked over twice, im on the final draft and just wanted it checked over. Thanks for reading over it and i do appreciate it but i think maybe you dont know that much infomation about personal statements, that, or my teachers are obviously wrong.

Looking at the UCAS site it says it is limited to 4000 characters including spaces and 47 lines ( I couldn't see a words limit) Leaving that aside and and the facts I've not been to university and not had to write a Personal Statement I've had a read of what you've written.

Mentioning the programmes IS relevant since they have influenced yir choice of course.

You said you have conducted yir own research so what did that involve? Was in job-shadowing, placements etc?

You have emphasised the influence of fictional writers but what about the real-life aspects?

What differences have you made in the Parish?

I have not heard of Chantry House, is it well known to those in this field? If not, can you explain why it was challenging?
