New to Broadband

Can anyone help me on this question I still have to connect via a dialogue box connection and I am told that this is not correct. I also am unable to send messages via Outlook Express although I am receiving them but these are coming through my old email address??! I am at a loss and tearing my hair out as to why this is happening. Please is there anyone that can tell me what is wrong or what I haven't done. I've tried the tiscali number for help but it is near impossible to get to talk to them Some help!!

I'm not totally sure that I understand but I think that you probably mean that your PC is trying to make a dial-up connection, even though you've already got a broadband one. This is a common problem when people switch to broadband. ISPs often forget to tell their customers to change the settings which are shared by Internet Explorer and Outlook Express. Here's how to fix it:
Go to Tools > Internet Options > Connections.
Click to place a dot next to 'Never dial a connection'
Click 'Apply' and then 'OK'.
Second bit:
Your reference to your 'old e-mail address' suggests that you've changed your ISP but not configured your new e-mail address in Outlook Express (or whatever other e-mail client you might be using). When you leave an ISP, they normally allow you to continue connecting to the e-mail server which handles your incoming mail (either indefinitely or sometimes only for a month or two) but you can no longer connect to the outgoing mail server. That would explain why you're still getting mail sent to the old address.
To set up your new account, you should open your e-mail client (which is probably Outlook Express) and go to Tools > Accounts > New > Mail.
Now fill in the relevant details for your account.
The incoming mail server should be pop.tiscali.co.uk
The outgoing server should be smtp.tiscali.co.uk
The account name should be your full e-mail address (not just the bit before the '@' sign).
That's probably sufficient information for setting up the account (apart, of course, from your password) but further details on the required settings can be found here:

Thanks for the reply. I'm confused as to why you should still see a connection dialogue box if you've followed the instructions in the second paragraph above (from within Internet Explorer).
It might be simplest to switch to a better browser. The majority of the 'regulars', here on AB's technology section (myself included), have switched to Firefox. As well as being a much better browser than IE, it works independently of your means of connecting to the internet, so it won't bother you with strange dialogue boxes:
