Epilogue
In the first scene Ben-Hur and Esther have married and had children, as they sit in their villa in Misenum. Iras drops around, and marvels at the children she might have had, announcing that she has killed Messala and finally discovered that Romans were 'brutes'. She leaves just as suddenly as she arrived.

JimJools, I only saw your last post this morning.
I think that you are right about Messala. Having re-read the relevant bits, it seems that he survived the chariot crash by some Moriarty-type miracle. Sorry I jumped in!
I finished the Generalist last night - with a little help from Ont-ice and sarumite. Someone said it was easier than usual - not for me it wasn't!
Post here if you want any hints or help, though I shall have to go out later on.
