1970s children's book

I read this book at school and have been trying to track it down for my Niece (I have no title or author information). It was about 7 Chinese brothers who all could do amazing things. I think they were playing hide and seek or searching for something. One drank all the water from a pond to search for it? Any ideas?

I remember reading this in about the early 60s. It is the however many "Chinese Brothers" and was fascinatingly illustrated.
