Charles' campaign to make Camilla queen

Charles wants Camilla to be made queen not just a princess consort when he takes to the throne. Apparently 'insiders' have claimed he wants to gain public support so that they can both be crowned. There are concerns that this should not be allowed because of the once adulterous nature of their relationship. What do you think? Should we forgive and forget and be happy for this couple and support their wishes?

I've never had any doubts,despite what was being said, that comes the day Charles is crowned king, Camilla wll be queen. Remember how they denied that marriage between them was ever on the agenda. Personally, I find it very hard to forget the misery that those two caused Diana. I know it's a while ago now but Prince Andrew wasn't allowed to marry Koo Stark, supposedly the love of his life, because she'd appeared in a soft porn movie and yet here's a woman who was cheating in her marriage, carried on adulterously with the heir to the throne and caused untold unhappiness to another woman and, in time, she will be rewarded with being Queen. My one hope is that Queen Elizabeth lives to an extraordinarily old age and outlives her daughter-in-law!!

Well, obviously not you but there are presumably a lot of people who don't wish to see a Queen Camilla otherwise they wouldn't be adopting this 'softly softly, butter up the public' approach to the idea.

diana wasnt as sweet and inncocent as she made out, she knew exactly what she was letting herself in for and therefore all this "look what camilla and charles did" is rubbish, why not let camilla be queen if charles does finally become king

It'll make no difference, she won't have any more powers than she has already (assuming that she does tell charles what to do), I mean she won't really be Queen of England will she? It's just a title - she won't be able to "orf with one's head"?

I cant bear her myself likewise Charles. If he had been man enough to marry Camilla in the 1st place Diana would have been spared all the misery and heartache and would possibly be alive today. I know she had her affairs but only because she was lonely. I mean,what new loving husband wears cufflinks from his mistress on his honeymoon? That must have been a right slap in the face for Diana! No doubt Camilla will become Queen but not with my support.

I'm not a royalist as such but as far as I'm concerned any support or interest in the royals will end after Elizabeth II. Charles is a spoilt poor-me who has foisted his mistress on this country, and his sons are no better, all they seem to be able to to is fall out of night clubs at 3am. Perhaps Princess Anne could do better?

from a small girl diana said she wanted to marry a prince and with her background it was most probably going to come true, diana knew about camilla right from the word go and before ,but she still married him, at least he didnt keep having affairs like she did, how many men did she go with before her death? it was a shame that she died, but she has and charles is entitled to happiness, so what if camilla becomes queen, like njko said what difference does it make.

of course Camilla should not be queen and IMHO Charles should not be king either.

As far as I am concerned it is long past time that this country put the monarchy in the dustbin. I am not an expert on such things but I would prefer an elected head of state, wholly separate from government.

Mind you I think I would like to get rid of all selfseeking politicians too.......to be replaced with.....havent thought that far yet!

if the queen lives as long as her mother we could be talking about another 19 years before the question of camilla arises and by then who knows who will succeed to the throne.

The wife of a King is known as a Queen consort and that is usually shortened to Queen. There is no choice in the matter as it currentky stands, nothing to discuss.

I totally agree with FoxLee. Both Charles and Camilla are a total waste of space, I have no time at all for the Royals and think they are just a waste of the taxpayer's money.

When the Queen goes just get rid of the lot of them. They've all proven what they're worth - nothing. No way on this earth should he, let alone horse face, be crowned.
