When I was younger I was read a story about a girl who made porridge, but it overflowed and covered the whole town. anyone know the name? I know how stupid it sounds!!

It sounds like it might be The Magic Porridge Pot, which I think is a Grimm's Fairy Tale.
Since when were fairy tales sensible? To cook she had to say 'Cook pot cook' and to stop she had to stay 'Stop pot stop', only she forgot the last thing.
Yes its The Magic Porridge Pot and it was published by puffin in the 1980's and 1990's it fairly cheap fairy tale books

Thanks guys. Think I will go and buy it!! My gran used to read it to me, back in the day when porridge meant more than a mans kilt caught in the wind!
