Can anyone tell me the title of a film in which a wife is murdered and Deneuve subsequently returns as the dead woman's sister. The husband kills the wrong man.

It definitely wasn't Les Diaboliques � for one thing, it's quite a different plot, and secondly, La Deneuve would only have been eleven years old when that film was made!

Thanks, Peter, but the film I'm on about had the roles reversed to your suggestion. I remember one scene where a motorcyclist smears a greasy rag over her windscreen. He's the guy the husband kills in revenge but it turns out not to have been him. Then Deneuve turns up in the role of the murdered woman's sister.
Come on, someone, this is losing me sleep.
