Getting Paint Off Your Car

Can someone help me please, I have just scrapped my car on my garden gate and there is all black paint on the front under the lights its on plastic I think though not metal, some of it has come off with just hot water and a sponge but there is still some there, how do I remove it without removing my silver paint?
