Depends on my mood but in general a good adventure romp, with swashbucklers and baddies getting their come uppance, something by Dumas for instance.

Also like stories about ordinary people, with faults who make mistakes and have regrets, while they live their 'ordinary' lives. 'Behind the Scenes at the Museum' by Kate Atkinson and 'Catcher in the Rye' are my favourite thus far of this type, have reread them many times and am moved by them every time

Michael Connelley's nexr book

Difficult. I'm very into Stephen King for his suspense and detailed imagery.
But I love a good ol' romance novel. Dorothy Koomson is an amazing writer, very emotional and strong characters. She wrote 'My Best Friends Girl' and 'Marshmallows for Breakfast'

If that lot are already out, I want the diaries of Frau Eva Brown.

Otherwise, I will occupy my time with 'Hitchhikers' as it agrees with me whenever I'm cynical, makes me think whenever I'm philosophical and makes me laugh out loud whatever mood I'm in.
