i wasn't sure which heading to put this question under..... i have just received another internal e mail which contains wonderful flowery wording. it talks of staff being 'up-skilled' and 'slippage'. i was wondering if anybody knows of a site where i could write a letter in 'plain english' and it would translate into alternate words or eupemisms. i was a great admirer of the late great kenneth williams who would never use a four letter word when a ten letter one was equally good. t.i.a

Most of us think of that sort of language as chock full of "buzzwords" ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzzword ) rather than "flowery". You can even play "buzzword bingo" at boring meetings ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Buzzword_bingo ). If you really find that you have to use such language, Dilbert's Mission statement generator ( http://www.dilbert.com/comics/dilbert/games/ca reer/bin/ms.cgi ) might help.
