I was told that the Mona Lisa's real name was actually the Italian term for "pretty lady." I'm not sure if this is true, but if it is i want to know why she's know called the mona lisa.
The Italian for Beautiful lady is " Bella Donna ".
This is also another name for " Deadly Nightshade ", the juice of which was used in ancient times by ladies who wished to make their eyes more attractive.
( It causes the pupils to dilate, making the eyes seem larger ).
