Wardy - Bride and Prejudice is great fun BUT I absolutely insist you get a DVD of the BBC production starring Colin Firth and Jennifer Ehle, it's true to the book and wonderful and I think you'd like Miss Elizabeth Bennett, she's your sort of girl! Mr Hellyon doesn't do romantic films but he absolutely loved it.
Even more to the point you really should read Jane Austen, I often think it a shame they are most often described as 'romances', which they are but they are also beautifully written witty books with very acute observations of people and how they behave, amazingly still accurate 200 years later, people don't change much.
Finally any lady will be very impressed with any man who has read Jane Austen.
