worming my dog,how often?

how often should i be worming my dog?im worming him once evry 3 mths at the moment,hes a miniature pinscher and he will be 2 in jan.i worm him with the pedigree treat womers and him half of one of those.(they look like treats)
could someone tell me if this is the correct amount and type and timescale pls.thanks xx

yes every 3 months is the usual worming schedule but I'm concerned about the wormers that you use. A lot of the time the high street wormers do not do the job properly. I would recommend you get some Drontal which is used by most vets and you can buy it cheap online. I have never used anything else. The ones called Drontal+ comes in chicken flavour and with Drontal you don't have to starve your pets either.

thanks,ill get them from the vet then,ive been using the pedigree for the last couple of times but i didnt know if they were any good,more expensive actually! i had the vet ones before,i just happended to be in the supermarket and saw them!thanks for you help,at least im worming at the correct times too which is good.xx

I only ever worm every six months unless I see evidence of worms, or they have had a flea infestation. I also use Drontal, its quick and easy and gets the job done.

Yes, definitely use the wormer that the vet uses.It's good idea to use an anti-flea treatment at the time too
