Hard question to answer, particulary in a few words; whole theses have been written on this subject. Shakespeare collobarated with other playwrights and some works attributed to Shakespeare were certainly not all his (Henry VIII and Pericles for example). The accepted number has been 37, but some sources add The Two Noble Kinsman to that list, and in the last decade, Edward III has also been attributed to him, so the number could be as high as 39.
These are, of course, just the plays that survived. We know that there were other plays that he wrote, Love's Labour's Won for example, so who knows what the true figure is?
