cunningham flies again

(This is a rerun of a question I asked a while back in the main category. Didn't get any replies there - could it be that the real buffs dwell in subcategories only? Sorry to be such a pain in the proverbial but I really want that poster - if indeed it exists.)
I used to own a black-and-white photo postcard from a Martha Graham production where dancer Merce Cunningham comes flying through the air in one giant leap. A woman (Graham?) sits at her desk in a jaded pose studying his flight toward her as if she were assessing his flying techniques rather than anticipating his company. Cunningham's body is cram full with energy, he's like a spring just released; looking at the picture you feel he must surely bounce once he lands.
I'd love to have this photo on my wall as a poster but haven't been able to find it. I'm good at advanced googling but search engines do provide different results in different countries - so if you're in the mood for some googling and you don't live in Sweden...

YouTube's working again - phew! I always think it's the end of the world. Enjoyed your Beach Boys clip very much anyway Neti. Here's the Alan Price clip I wanted to post in addition to the one I posted yesterday. I've checked YouTube regularly for this one for the past years and now it's finally there I'd better post it before it disappears again: changes
well if it's not the Spanish (bluebells) it's the bloomin Welsh (poppies) invading your green space....I'm kn4ckered.
neti never mind your marriage, it's your membership renewal to the biddy club you should be concerned about...I'm not sure we can allow such behaviour, tut!
And making your pets do your dirty work?
(give him a minute)

Evening All And another lovely day is drawing to a close. I expect it'll be raining tomorrow just cos I've got me garden chairs cleaned ready for sitting out.
Robi 3 Wheel Drive cancelled last night so we were stuck with a guy who sang 50's 60's and 70's music to backing tapes rubbish. Andy's has still got hair but not very long!! The PumpkinTrucks are on at the Rose and Crown in Chello but I'm not going I'm going to stay in and watch the snooker as I can't find anybody to go with ahhahh!!.
Now you be careful Neti you might go and strain something with all this galavanting. Mind you you sound like you had a good time.
My plumber and Tbag are coming tomorrow should be interesting. Only joking, they are coming at different times. Lol.
I've been meaning to ask are you all on the new Answer Bank with your pictures on. I'm still using the old one cos I couldn't be a***d with it.
Well I think the snooker is on now so I'm off. Have a good weekend you all bye for now :o)

Just listened to Sunny, I agree Robinia. I've been searching for Changes since I saw O Lucky Man! a couple of years ago, never heard Price with Fame until yesterday but they sounded great together, obviously.

Good morning possums. Can't go back to sleep after an early morning trip to the loo, two young men are lighting some kind of timid firecrackers (!) outside my window. What's the point, they just make a fizzling sound and it's already light anyway... Damn you Jude, I feel a limerick coming on:
There once was a biddy named Jude
Inviting her Tbag, her dude.
-I'll be the first comer!
-No, that was the plumber...
(Begorrah, that woman was lewd.)
I'll try to catch a few more hours of sleep now... Loved that song, Vinny, never heard Rod so pleasantly rough before.

Morning Biddy friends Loved the Limerick Kit you are clever!! I wouldn't remember hou to get into beta now either. I'm leaving well alone.
Hope your heads not too bad today Vinny sounds like you had a good time. The last beer fes I went to was with my gardener a year ago and I was well drunk. The first time in about 15 years. I really enjoyed myself.
Well the rain arrived quite gently this morning, just when I have a load of washing to peg out. I have a very small house and no dryer so I have to put it on an airer in my spare bedroom which really annoys me.
May get a few hours this afto to watch the snooker but will get the final frames tomorrow that is if Ronnie O'Sullivan doesn't whitewash Carter which is a distinct possibility. Is anyone else interested or is it just me who's sport mad. I think it is possibly having sons that does it.
Have a good day all of you.
See you later 'gater(s) !!

morning weeds....
House of the rising sun?....this is becoming the house of falling standards....tut.
Rain Jude? how odd, it hasn't sprinkled on me today & I've been tidying the front garden. If the forecast is to be believed it's going to be warm next week(!) & it gets hot out there.
My two were never into conventional sport so (thankfully) no standing on draughty sidelines in the rain for me. I think the tennis has lost it's appeal lately & but I do love the Urban Rat Race type events...now that's what I call sport, all those toned thighs & not a satin waistcoat in sight, haha! .....don't still wear them do they?
Sorry you couldn't sleep Kit - you should have borrowed neti's book

ooer, where did me post go? Hope it's not on the wrong thread :o/ ....p'raps neti rolled it up & smoked it
(I'd cook the meat btw Neti...oh, too late? sorry)
What I said was (more or less)
That was far too early for a biddy to peg out Jude, most of this lot haven't even surfaced yet. And don't take it personally about Moggy...she'll be taking it out on you 'cos her usual slave is away :o)

Good morning all over again, possumistas. They kept on lighting those puny, pointless firecrackers for hours...! And a girl joined them and the talk got louder, and after a while the two guys started fighting (verbally)...
We have that here, Robi, it's called City Challenge and one of the things they do is they climb the walls of Globen, the golfball-like sports hall here I've only read about it, hope they broadcast it on teve too, one of these years. Another fun event is The Midnight Race which takes place where I live, I can hear'em thundering by. A combination between a serious race and a rave so this guy says. But to answer your question Jude I don't generally enjoy watching sports, I lose concentration and don't understand what they're doing. / Relieved you liked the limerick, Jude...
I didn't know that about Alan Price, jno, although I had heard the tune is traditional. I guess the question for me would be, then, if he made the arrangement all by himself or not. Have to tell y'all I think we're all thieves, we're all grabbing stuff off the internet and using it, posting it here if nothing else. I've been doing that for years and I still haven't been able to work out a valid defence for myself for doing that.
Just eat it and be done with it Neti and we'll make next year The Year Of The Lamb, just as we had to make 2008 the year of the frog The "leg of lamp" however I must advice you to stay off, they're a bit hard to digest (Didn't you say you were gonna get glasses Neti he he he...)

not exactly theft, Kit, as the original is still there but seen by more people. We don't hack into private sites and steal anything that isn't freely available to the public already, after all. As to Price, the other Animals grumbled that all he did was work out a couple of chords and apparently he quit in mid-US tour; they had to go on playing the song knowing that he was getting all the royalties for it and they weren't getting any. I don't know how true this is; it came out in a telly series on the history of rock three or four years ago. Price seemed kind of smug about it. Still a great song, though. Deep south blues from a century ago, I expect.
I do ("hack"), jno - I'm glad if you don't. Speaking for myself I've posted images here with great big C's for Copyright plastered all over them, having finally managed to grab them in sneakier ways than just right-clicking and "saving picture as." Also: Many images on the internet haven't been watermarked or otherwise protected simply because it wasn't the photographer/painter that put them out there to begin with and lots of the YouTube stuff I post should never have been made public in the first place and disappears shortly after appearing. It is problematic and it is theft even if the work of art is still in place: You (i.e. I, not you, jno) steal the money that the artist might have otherwise received for the "usage", and as a poor person I'll never say that money doesn't matter.
Don't know anything about the Animals conflict other than what you're telling me but judging from that it sounds like a legal shortcoming to me - if he really did just work out a couple of chords. Or an injustice performed by the record company, if they only wanted one name on the label when in fact they all worked on it together? if they did?
As you can tell I'm not really arguing with you jno, I'm just interested in these matters and hope they can be solved one day. In general I think of myself as one of the good guys but although I've done some creative work myself I would still find it very hard not to post stuff here even if I knew it had been illegaly posted to, say, YouTube. And I'd find it even more hard to first make sure that stuff has not been illegaly "published" in the first place. How do you do that? You don't, or at least I don't, but in a court of law it doesn't hold up to say oh I wasn't aware I was committing a crime. This is a problem waiting to be solved. In the meanwhile: Smug isn't nice! Bad Alan Price, I totally agree with you there.
