8 million. That is if you're making the connection between the last line of the 1999 Spike Lee film Summer of Sam - ('There are 8 million stories in this naked city, this is just one' [sic.??]) about the summer when the serial killer Son of Sam terrorised the streets of NYC - and the 1958-63 TV programme The Naked City which used to open with the same line.
