Painting internal doors

I wonder if anyone could give me some advice about painting internal doors. I have googled and found lots of infformation but cannot find the website that I previously found. It explained in which order a panelled door should be painted. I know that really I should remove the doors and lay them flat. For various reasons this is not possible and I am going to have to paint them in situ. Has anyone any advice, I would be very grateful. I am thinking of painting them in white and using eggshell or satin finish paint. Many thanks Jeanette
